EA: No new Battlefield, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 next for 2017

This year’s Battlefield One will be the last for “a couple of years,” according to EA’s Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgenson.

Earlier today, during the Nasdaq 35th Investor Program, Jorgenson confirmed EA will instead look to focus on making Star Wars: Battlefront 2 the companies top shooter for next year.

He stated, “[EA] won’t have another Battlefield back for a couple of years. Next year we’ll have Battlefront, the Star Wars game.”

Jorgensen also said the next Battlefront will be “much bigger” and “much more exciting” than last the first Battlefront, by way of addressing criticism that the game was lacking in content.

“We were very excited about how Star Wars [Battlefront] came out last year,” he said. “It’s a beautiful game, people loved it. I think if there was criticism they just wanted more.

“And so, we’re taking that criticism to heart as we build the next game and trying to address any of the issues that [the fans] had.”
