Sharknado: The Video Game is now available for iOS, Other Ocean announced today.
The action-adventure title, based on the cult-popular Sci-Fi film, Sharknado: The Second One, will see players assume the role of Fin as they must destroy a series of shark-infested tornadoes in New York City.
Available in North America, it is priced at $2.99 and will feature official trading card collectables, buckets of fish for feeding, and the ability to bounce off sharks and fly into the heart of the sharknado clutching a chainsaw.
“The Sharknado movies already exhibit a strange video game logic, so translating them into a work of interactive art wasn’t much of a challenge,” said Frank Cifaldi, Director of the game.
“We still have a soft spot for the licensed games of our childhoods, the ones that took a lot of strange liberties in the name of fun, and I think we’ve succeeded in bringing that feeling to the 21st century.
“We still haven’t seen the ‘Citizen Kane’ of video games, but at least we have our Sharknado.”
