Naughty Dog have told gamers that during 2014 frequent news updates relating to upcoming projects will be released.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog’s Community Strategist, Eric Monacelli, also thanked fans for their support and wish them happy holidays. He wrote: “2013 marked the launch of The Last of Us and the two-year anniversary of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. We also were honored to take home the Studio of the Year award at the Spike VGX and hope it’s the first of many to come.
“The Last of Us won many awards already and is up for even more so please show your support where you can and wish us luck on the ones you can’t vote for! Currently The Last of Us team is hard at work on our first ever single player DLC, The Last of Us: Left Behind. It’s shaping up to be awesome and we’ll have more news on it soon. Once 2014 hits, we’ll start frequently rolling out fresh news and information about all our upcoming projects onPlayStation Blog and the Naughty Dog blog, so make sure to visit frequently.”
The studio behind the critical acclaimed apocalyptic survival thriller The Last of Us announced back in November that an upcoming story expansion DLC for the game is currently in development and are hoping to release it in early 2014. The prequel story, titled “The Last of Us: Left Behind”, follows original co-protagonist Ellie – voiced again by Ashley Johnson, who recently won the Spike TV VGX Award for Best Voice Actress – and takes place while she is attending a military boarding school in the Boston quarantine zone. Alongside her is new character, Riley, Ellie’s best friend and mentor of sorts at the same boarding school. Players will follow their story adventure through a series of events that changes them both forever.
Also in development is a new Uncharted game exclusively for the PS4. Little is known about the next instalment in the action-adventure franchise but Naughty Dog have promised that gamers will have an amazing experience just like in previous instalments.
Naughty Dog recently won Studio of the Year at the Spike TV VGX Awards whilst The Last of Us was voted as Best PlayStation 3 game and Troy Baker was awarded Best Voice Actor for his performance as Joel.
