[dropcap]R[/dropcap]idley Scott has announced in an interview with Empire magazine that the script for the next Prometheus movie is finished. The script was written by Jack Paglen, who is also the writer for another sci-fi movie called Transcendence due out sometime in the future.
Two Prometheus sequels are on the cards, and it will be interesting to see where the story will go next. Fans can probably expect to see Prometheus 2 in 2014 or 2015.
Scott is happy to be working in the sci-fi genre again and during the interview with Empire he had this to say: “I thought I’d left science-fiction for too long, that I had better climb back in. Prometheus was a great experience for me. Chasing number two, we can start evolving the grand idea.”
Scott’s earlier works Alien and Blade Runner are both outstanding science fiction films; he has a knack for directing engaging and thought provoking sci-fi movies. He has mentioned in the past that a sequel to Blade Runner is also in the works; if a sequel is made, then hopefully Harrison Ford will reprise his role as replicant hunter Rick Deckard.
