A lead artist from The Last of Us is the third person to depart Naughty Dog within the space of 2 months.
Nate Wells, a lead artist of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed survival thriller, revealed via his Twitter than he has left the studio and as of April 3rd had joined the Santa Monica based Giant Sparrow studio, developers of The Unfinished Swan.
As first spotted by PlayStation Universe, he wrote via his Twitter: “Hmmm, seem to be some threads here. Yes, I joined the wild, wacky, and ultimately brilliant folks at Giant Sparrow on April 3rd.”
Wells’ departure comes just three weeks after the Game Director of Uncharted 3, Justin Richmond, also left the studio and joined League of Legends developer Riot Games.
Back in March, it was also revealed that longtime Naughty Dog employee and Uncharted series writer Amy Hennig had also left the studio.
According to IGN sources, Amy was allegedly “forced out” of the company by Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, something Naughty Dog later denied.
Hennig has gone on to join Visceral Games & EA and was appointed Creative Director for an upcoming Star Wars game.
We’ve reached out to Naughty Dog for comment – so far, no word back.
