Get Even, new horror-thriller title, announced for 2015

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]et Even, a new first-person horror-thriller title for next-gen consoles, has been announced for 2015.

The game, developed by The Farm 51 – which will also be available for the PC – promises “ambitious new dynamic and photorealistic graphics” and will “blur the lines between single and multiplayer experience”.

Featuring two linked stories, the plot revolves around the memories of the protagonists as the decisions the player makes determines the route of the story. Single player and multiplayer will merge together, as when embarking on a single player mission, other gamers will able to join the network as enemies, enhancing the player’s feeling of threat.

Using 3D scanning technology, Get Even will be the very first game to use large-scale, real-work scanning to create expansive and lifelike environments. Developers say that weapons will be advanced with technology that exceeds current capabilities, such as weapons that fire around corners, enabling the player to shoot from a safe position.

Wojtek Pazdur, CEO of The Farm 51, said in a press release: “As an independent developer, it would be foolish to go head-to-head with the larger companies and create a ‘me-too’ knock-off, and frankly we wouldn’t be interested in doing it.

“We believe that there is still a ton of content and design creativity that has yet to be explored in the first-person genre, as well as an audience beyond the warfare player – those are the people we are going for with Get Even.”
