Horror film The Void has been turning heads for the past few months with it’s Carpenter-esque vibe, 80s aesthetic and gruesome practical effects all of which are present in this latest trailer which you can watch above.
FX masters Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie are the brains behind this macabre dive into the bowels of a hellish nightmare and people are already sighting influences from classic horror films such as John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982) and Event Horizon (1997).
“Encountering a blood-soaked man on a dark deserted road, a police officer rushes the victim to the local hospital. Soon the staff and patients are trapped by a terrifying, otherworldly threat and forced on a hellish voyage into the depths of the building to escape the nightmare.”
With Stranger Things taking the world by storm there is a clear demand for throwback horror, something we here at Roobla are all for. We’re certainly looking forward to this one and will have a review up as soon as possible.
