Quantic Dream have no plans for a sequel to Beyond: Two Souls, it’s founder has revealed.
David Cage, who also wrote and directed the 2013 action-thriller, recently revealed through a Q&A that the French studio has no plans for a sequel in the near future.
“There is no plans at the moment for a sequel to Beyond: Two Souls,” said Cage. “We love starting new ideas and exploring different directions game after game.
“I know this is quite unusual in the industry, but we don’t want to make the same game ten times, or feel too comfortable only doing things we know.
“We love the excitement of new risks to take, new things to try, new crazy ideas to explore; and see how our fans and the community will react.”
Released in 2013, it tells the life of Jodie Holmes, a young woman who possess supernatural powers through her psychic link to a mysterious invisible entity.
Hollywood actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe were were cast as the main leads in the game and both went on to earn award nominations for their respective roles.
Whilst critical reception was polarised, the game went on to sell over one million copies within three months of it’s launch.
Available for PlayStation 3, it was also released for the PlayStation 4 last week.
Quantic Dream unveiled their brand new title last month – a sci-fi thriller based in Detroit, titled Detroit: Become Human.
