The Host – Coming to Cinemas in 2013

Rumours about a film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s The Host have abounded for months now but finally we have a release date… but we’ll have to wait over a year and a half to see it.

The film, adapted for screen by Andrew Niccols, will be released 29th March 2013, with filming beginning February next year. Saoirse Ronan is set to star as Melanie, a woman who battles with her parasitic ‘soul’ after Earth is overcome by an alien race who take over a planet’s lifeforms for new experiences. Wanderer, the soul who resides in Melanie, poses unforetold dilemmas for the both of them as they battle with emotions and existence.
