Hello Dear Roobla Fans,
Christmas is nearly upon us. The time to love, laugh and reflect on the year that has passed…and stress out buying Christmas presents for that one relative that always says “I don’t really need anything.” With the festive season just around the corner, I thought I’d give you all an update on what we’ve been doing here at Roobla HQ and what we’ve got coming over the next few weeks.
If you haven’t already done so, and you’re a fan of Asterix may I direct your attention to our competition to win one of two copies of Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods on DVD. The deadline is 12th December, so get your entries in quick and you could win yourself an extra Christmas pressie.
For those struggling with the Christmas shop, we have several articles here to help guide you around that gift-giving minefield. Our Tech Editor Tom Wickens has provided a list of the best gadgets to buy tech lovers and our Sport Editor Ed Dixon, has warned what not to buy football fans this Christmas. We also have a list of our 50 Must-have Blu-rays for that film fan in your family or if you’re looking for a movie to watch on the big day.
Putting together that Christmas playlist for the morning commute to work? Why not take a look at Bayley Davidson’s Top Ten Christmas songs from the 50’s. Ten classic festive tunes that will no doubt get you in the mood and encourage you to spread that Christmas cheer. Planning on lazing in front of the TV? Then Olivia Haines’ guide to what’s on this year will help you organise your telly viewing schedule and Film Editor Dan Green has collated the best films on tv over the Christmas period.
Excitement levels for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are through the roof as with all Star Wars films before their impending release. Hopes are high and to celebrate the film opening in a few days time, Jack Bottomley has compiled the Top 50 Star Wars moments.
As always we’ll keep you up to date with the latest news across all areas, but keep your eyes peeled for the following treats coming your way. Our comedy podcast Movie Madness will release a Xmas special on the 19th December and coming Christmas Eve we will launch our epic quiz of the year to test how much you remember about 2016.
So from me and the whole team here at Roobla HQ, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We’ll see you all in 2017.
Kind Regards,
Tom Batt
Chief Editor
