Sony has yet again assured fans that The Last Guardian has not been cancelled.
Yesterday it was reportedThe Last Guardian‘s trademark had been abandoned by Sony, seemingly suggesting that the game may have been cancelled.
But Sony today issued a statement to Gamespot, saying that the fantasy-epic had not been cancelled and the abandonment was “due to an administrative error”.
“[We] can confirm that The Last Guardian is still in development,” the statement read.
This is the second time Sony has had to assure fans that the game was not cancelled, following a report last year by IGN which claimed it was cancelled following an internal Sony meeting.
Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony Worldwide, later clarified that if the game does get cancelled “we’ll say so”.
Developed by Team ICO, The Last Guardian follows a young boy and Trico, a giant creature, who work together to evade the pursuing guards trying to catch them both.
Originally announced in 2009, it is set to be a PS3 exclusive.
