Grand Theft Auto V‘s PC edition has been delayed, Rockstar Games announced today.
The record-breaking critically acclaimed action-adventure title, originally scheduled for release on PC later this month on January 27th, has been pushed back two months. It will now hit stores on March 24th.
Rockstar said the decision to move the game was due to “a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be”.
In a news piece of their website, they wrote: “Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans.”
“Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.”
The studio also confirmed that GTA Online for PC will launch alongside the release of GTA V for PC and it will include GTA Online Heists – which they also said would be launching in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch.
GTA for PC will run at 1080p and 60fps with up to 4K resolutions and support for triple monitor configurations. Nvidia 3D Vision will also be included for triple monitor setups.
It will also include a Rockstar Editor, which will allow players to edit videos for upload to Rockstar Social Club and YouTube – something which proved incredible popular for GTA IV. Minimum and recommended specifications are available via the Rockstar website.
Several screenshots where also released, as shown below.
