Halo 5: Guardians has officially been announced today.
It was revealed by Bonnie Ross, General Manager at 343 Industries, the developers, that the next instalment of the sci-fi shooter series will be launching in the fall of 2015.
The title will be exclusive to Xbox One.
“Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4,” said Ross. “That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine.
“Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worth of next-gen.”
The game was first teased at last year’s E3 convention in a teaser trailer, as shown above.
Ross said more information would be announced at Xbox’s E3 Media Briefing in June.
