Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 33 million copies.
Take-Two Interactive, publishers, revealed yesterday in an earnings report that Rockstar Games’ phenomenally success and critically acclaimed GTA V has gone on to sell-in over 33 million copies since launching on September 17th last year.
The open-world action-adventure title became the biggest launch in entertainment history, earning $800 million during its first 24 hours and then breaking $1 billion two days later.
Critically acclaimed worldwide, the title went on to out-sell its predecessor GTA IV, beat The Last of Us as the biggest digital release on PlayStation, broke seven Guinness World Records and won numerous Game of the Year awards.
Chairman and CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, said that he expects Rockstar Games to account for 45% of the company’s revenue during it’s fiscal year 2015.
