The final DLC pack for The Last of Us is to be released “in a few weeks”, a Naughty Dog rep announced yesterday.
The pack, titled Grounded, will feature a mix of single-player and multiplayer content in the third and final DLC for the critically acclaimed survival-thriller title.
As previously promised, Grounded Mode will see a brand new harder difficulty for the game’s campaign.
Eric Monacelli, Community Strategist for Naughty Dog, said: “New trophies and a mix of single-player and multiplayer content await you in this DLC drop. Grounded Mode will be the hardest challenge you’ll ever face as you try to complete the single-player campaign of The Last of Us.
“The AI is relentless, smart, and brutal, and survival will be near impossible. “Completed Grounded Mode” might be one of the most difficult Trophies you’ll ever earn. If you’re not a season pass holder, Grounded Mode will cost $4.99 standalone.”
Also available will be The Reclaimed Territories Map Pack which features four brand new maps. Wharf: set in rusted-out docks where Joel encountered Robert, Capitol: set in Boston and encourages flanking, Coal Mine: set in Colorado in the winter and Water Tower: set in Lincoln, PA, perfect for close combat situations.
New guns and survival skills will be available including the Survivalist Weapon Bundle which includes the Specter: a silenced assault rifle, the Double Barrel: a double barrel shotgun, the Enforcer: a pistol and the Launcher: a small explosive gun.
Two Survival Skills bundles include new skills such as Agility, Awareness, Fortitude, Scanvenger, Gunslinger, Bomb Expect, Executioner and Damager Marker.
Whether you a season pass holder or not, all players will receive a Full-Auto Rifle for free.
No release date was announced but when asked about a potential release date in the comments, Monacelli said they were still working on one but it would be in the next few weeks.
The DLC will be included in the PS4 remastered version as well.
A live stream of the pack will be happening on April 4th on Naughty Dog’s Twitch TV channel.
