The rumoured Assassin’s Creed: Unity title has been confirmed as in production by Ubisoft today.
On Wednesday, screenshots appeared to have leaked online via Kotaku which pointed to a new Assassin’s Creed title possibly in production, known as “Unity“. The report also claimed that this was one of two titles currently planned.
Ubisoft refused to comment on the reports, saying it doesn’t comment on rumour or speculation.
Today, Ubisoft released a teaser trailer, shown above, featuring alpha game footage of the game which is to be released in holiday 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
“We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand,” said a statement in the video’s description.
The video appears to confirm what was reported on Wednesday, which is that the game is set sometime during 18th century Paris. The video features a red, white and blue flag, Paris’ Notre Dame cathedral and the video description features a French translation.
Further information regarding the game is to be released over the coming months.
