A TNA Wrestling video game could possibly be in the works, if a recent hint by the company’s president proves true.
During a recent Q&A session on Twitter, TNA Entertainment president, Dixie Carter, said that the company is working on something regarding a video game.
When asked by a fan about a game, Carter replied: “Would love to have one. Working on something right now.”
A previous TNA Wrestling video game was released in September 2008 for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, titled TNA iMPACT! – the same name as their weekly national wrestling TV show on Spike TV, now known as Impact Wrestling.
The game went on to sell over 1 million copies and a second instalment was planned however the game’s publishers, Midway Games, closed due to financial issues in 2009 and the license was sold on to South Peak Games.
South Peak released TNA iMPACT!: Cross The Line for the PSP and Nintendo DS in June 2010.
The company’s website however has been taken offline, their Twitter account has been inactive for nearly three years, as well as their Facebook. Their designated press site is also offline.
We’re trying to establish contact with South Peak Games to word get from them and we’ve reached out to TNA Wrestling for comment.
