Zac Efron has confirmed that he is in talks with producers of Star Wars: Episode VII to discuss a role in the film. It is unclear what role he is being considered for, but this news is certainly intriguing. Efron has been taking on more serious roles over the last few years, and a role in Star Wars would serve him well.
If Efron does get a role in the film his presence will no doubt help make it more appealing to a younger audience. This obviously means more bums on seats at the cinemas and more money for Disney.
Quite a few actors have been connected to the film over the past year including Saoirse Ronan, Simon Pegg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael B. Jordan. Some of the old cast members are also rumoured to be in talks to appear in Episode VII including Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.
So far the only confirmed character who will appear is R2-D2, but hopefully other characters like C-3PO and Chewbacca may also get roles.
Star Wars: Episode VII is due to be released in December, 2015.
