Mario Kart 8 will be released sometime in May, it has been confirmed.
During Nintendo’s financial results yesterday, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said that the racing title will be available this May.
Whilst no exact date was confirmed, this news was later confirmed to IGN as a global release date.
Whilst continuing gameplay from previous instalments of the Mario Kart series, Mario Kart 8 also enables racers to drive on walls and ceilings thanks to the game’s new anti-gravity system.
Local and online multiplayer modes for up to 12 players are also available and players will also be able to share clips from races via the new Mario Kart TV.
