DayZ was the most talked about new game and the most interested game over the last month, according to research by Play.com.
Play.com, an online shopping website, conducted analysis and found that the popular online multiplayer survival-horror PC title DayZ was the most talked about game from 1st December to the 17th January, despite the launches of both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the launches of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Fifa 14.
Coming first as the most talked about game on Twitter, DayZ also beat the highly anticipated Titanfall and Forza Motorsport.
The website found that the majority of gamers were more interested about the game, which is still in its Alpha stage of development but is available for early access on Steam for £19.99.
The game, which originally launched as a MOD for ARMA 2 but was released as a standalone in December due to popular demand, has become one of the most popular PC games since its launch, selling over 400,000 copies during its first week, rocketing past 800,000 copies by its third week and breaking 1 million copies by its fourth week.
Also in the research, it was found that PlayStation 4 games are outselling Xbox One games 3 (65%) to 1 (35%), with Call of Duty: Ghosts the best selling game for both consoles whilst Fifa came second as best selling game on the PS4 but wasn’t included in the top five for the Xbox One.
Football Manager 2014 for the PC was the best selling game on Play.com between end of November, 2013 and January, 2014.
