[dropcap]D[/dropcap]eadline has confirmed that the Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will appear in Terminator: Genesis. The actress will play Sarah Connor in the film, a role previously played by both Linda Hamilton and Lena Headey.
Competition for the role was fierce as other actresses such as Brie Larson were also contenders for the part. Clarke proved that she can take on a role as a tough heroine when she appeared as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones HBO TV show. It will be fun to see what she brings to the table for her role in this Terminator reboot. Her role will reunite her with Alan Taylor who directed some episodes of Game of Thrones.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will also be back in the reboot as another T-800 Terminator, which will delight fans. Jason Clarke is apparently in talks to appear as John Connor, the son of Sarah Connor and the savior of the human race. In the future, John Connor led the humans in a revolt against the evil Skynet artificial intelligence system which created the Terminators.
Story details are scarce right now but there are rumours the new film will involve time travel into the future. This would not be surprising as the first three movies in the series incorporated elements of time travel into their stories.
