[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ockstar Games have announced that a story update DLC for Grand Theft Auto V is to be released in 2014.
Announcing the brand new DLC content on their website, Rockstar said that they have “big plans” for Grand Theft Auto V’s story mode in the new year. No official release date was announced.
Grand Theft Auto V saw the player take control of three protagonists for the very first time in the franchise’s history. Michael, a retired criminal turned informant, Trevor, a sociopath and former bank robber and Franklin, a street gangster and repo man, all come together to pull off a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life in the sprawling metropolis of Los Santos.
Rockstar also announced alongside the story update DLC that co-op heists are currently in development and more details are to be released in the new year.
On Saturday night GTA V won the Game of the Year and Best Soundtrack awards and nominated in 8 other categories at the Spike TV VGX Awards and was also voted Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards back in October. Released on September 17th, the action-adventure game opened to worldwide critical acclaim for it’s immersive open world and engaging story. It broke $800 million in sales just 24 hours following its launch and went on to break $1 billion 2 days later.
It also broke 7 Guinness World Records, outsold it’s predecessor GTA IV and beat The Last of Us as the biggest PS3 release.
