A couple of Final Fantasy remasters, a highly anticipated open world survival game, a new RPG, and a new instalment in an icon franchise are just some of the new gaming releases that await us in April 2019. Check out some of the ones we’re most excited for in the coming weeks.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
Release: 16th April
Platform: Switch
Two of the most popular titles in the Final Fantasy series: Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 are bringing their emotional stories to Nintendo Switch this April. Final Fantasy X follows the story of Tidus and Yuna as they embark on a pilgrimage to save the world with its sequel, Final Fantasy X-2 picking up two years later following Yuna, Rikku, and Payne on their own adventure to overcome powerful enemies.
Our World is Ended
Release: 18th April
Platform: PlayStation 4, Switch
In this new visual novel, follow Judgement 7, a team of young game developers working on their latest augmented reality title. After the setting and characters thought up by the developers become reality, the group get a glimpse into the future and are at the mercy of the ‘ended’ world that they have created.
Mortal Kombat 11
Release: 23rd April

Mortal Kombat is back with its 11th instalment and is better than ever in this newest evolution of the iconic franchise. The all new Custom Character Variations give you almost complete control to customise fighters and make them your own, which will give a deeper and more personalised experience. Featuring a roster of new and returning characters, in Mortal Kombat 11 you will continue the epic saga through a brand-new time-bending cinematic story that is more than 25 years in the making.
Dragon: Marked for Death
Release: 26th April
Platform: Switch
Dragon: Marked for Death is a 2D side-scrolling action RPG where you can either play solo or with up to 4 players in local or online multiplayer. Playing as a member of the Dragonblood Clan, you will take on various quests that will see you defeating monsters, searching for treasure, and recusing nobles. Each playable character has their own unique skills and abilities that they will level up through completing tasks in well thought-out and challenging level designs.
Days Gone
Release: 26th April
Platform: PlayStation 4
Set two years after a mysterious global pandemic, Days Gone will have players step into the shoes of Deacon St. John, a biker and bounty hunter who is trying to survive in a world where mindless and feral creatures known as Freakers roam free. The key to survival in this post-apocalyptic world is to never stay in one place too long, so players will get to explore the open-world of Days Gone as Deacon drifts from place to place using his skills in violence and mayhem that he picked in his biker days, to carry out mercenary work in an attempt to survive.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Release: 30th April
Platform: Switch
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a remaster of the Japanese expanded version of Final Fantasy XII. This new version has a reworked game design and remastered visuals which are now in full-HD for the ultimate play experience. Taking players back to the world of Ivalice, The Zodiac Age lets you once again become part of Princess Ashe’s resistance in an attempt to liberate her homeland.
Fade to Silence
Release: 30th April
Platform: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Taking on the role of tormented leader Ash, you explore a post-apocalyptic and frozen wasteland to gather resources in order to establish a refuge for survival. In the search for survival materials, players must navigate a vast territory, in which they will encounter monsters and must face off against the unrelenting winter. While freezing temperatures constantly take their toll, getting caught in a blizzard takes every ounce of skill, determination and luck to survive.
