[dropcap]A[/dropcap] video game adaptation of the hit TV and book series, Game of Thrones, could possibly be in the works, according to a report by IGN.
Citing “multiple sources” the site is saying that a game based on George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones could possibly be in development at Telltale Games, a video game production company whose credits include adaptations of The Walking Dead, Back To The Future and Jurassic Park. They are also currently working on an adaptation of the Fables graphic novel series, titled “The Wolf Among Us”.
Originally written as a series of books, Game of Thrones is currently being adapted as a TV series on HBO. So far it has had three seasons aired with season four beginning in Spring 2014.
Telltale Games’ Senior Vice President of Publishing, Steve Allison, released a short statement neither confirming nor denying the rumour. He said: “We get these sorts of rumours about what we could be working on next cropping up all the time. Officially we have no comment.”
With a new Lord of the Rings game in development, if these rumours surface as true we could be looking at a battle of the ages.
