Two Bollywood films banned in Pakistan – Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express and Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara will not be releasing in Pakistan during the Eid festivities. This is largely because the Pakistani government wants their local films to do well at the box office during Eid, which will mark the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Soheb Ali, who is owner of Showbiz Spice, stated the following about the ban. “These movies will release later on in Pakistan, but after Eid, so I don’t think it would cause much harm to the business of these movies in the international market. They can still make 100 crore if the movies have potential.”
Amitabh Bachchan shows sympathy for struggling actors – Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has said how difficult it must be today for new actors who wish to enter the Indian film industry. Mr Bachchan made his debut during the 1970s and has said how lucky he feels to have entered the industry at the precise time. “Today, times are tough for actors as they have to prove themselves with their first film,” said Mr Bachchan. “In our times we had several chances to prove ourselves as we had several films where we had a chance to enhance our acting. I feel I was lucky.”
Mahie Gill Plays an Alcoholic – Actress Mahie Gill will be seen playing the role of an alcoholic in her upcoming film Gangs of Ghost. “Mahie will be seen in a prominent role in the film,” said a close source to the Indian media. “She will be seen playing an addictive alcoholic actress in the film. She has pulled off her part really well.” Mahie has been seen in critically appreciated film like Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster and Dev-D.
