Famous for bringing Marvel’s X-Men to cinema screens, Bryan Singer is set to return as director for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the sequel to X-Men: First Class.
Directing both X-Men and X2 and acting as producer for both Superman Returns and the well received X-Men: First Class, Singer seems an obvious choice to direct the highly anticipated origins sequel.
While many will be disappointed to hear that Matthew Vaughn will not be returning as director after his successful stint in the director’s chair for First Class the news that Singer is taking the reins will allay most people’s fears. If that’s not enough, it is believed that Vaughn will return as producer, overseeing the project.
Few details are currently known about the sequel. What we do know is that it is to be called Days of Future Past (so expect time travel or something of the sort perhaps) and the actors who did such a great job in First Class will all be returning (so good news for any James McAvoy / Michael Fassbender / Jennifer Lawrence fans).
Singer’s return will mean that he is the first director to have helmed X-Men movies in both of the franchise’s timelines.
