Despite a baffling generations-old ban on music within his family, Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). Following a mysterious chain of events, he finds himself in the colourful Land of the Dead and meets charming trickster Héctor (Gael García Bernal). Together they set off on a journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
