Microsoft took to the stage last night during their E3 press conference to unveil their brand new console, dubbed “the world’s most powerful console”.
Formerly code-named “Project Scorpio”, the Xbox One X console will feature better textures, smoother framer rates, faster loading times, all designed to put the best graphic fidelity in the players hands to create 4K games.
“Xbox empowers game developers large and small to create different types of games for every type of player,” said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox.
“Not only do we have the biggest cross-platform blockbusters on our platform, we’ve also scoured the world to bring our fans unique content from creative artists that capture the imagination.”
Spencer revealed that Xbox One games already owned will be compatible with the new Xbox One X, and also Xbox will expand the Xbox One backward-compatibility library to nearly 400 popular Xbox 360 titles and original Xbox classics.
Other current Xbox One titles will all receive free updates in order for them to take full advantage of the new console.
Xbox One X also offers the ultimate 4K entertainment package with 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray X and streamed content, HDR support for gaming and video, and Dolby Atmos support.
The console will hit the market on November 7th for a retail price of $499.
