The Last of Us takes two more BAFTAs, Destiny wins Best Game

The Last of Us added two final awards to its already long list of accolades last night at the 2015 BAFTA Game Awards, taking home awards for Best Story and Best Performer.

The post-apocalyptic thriller’s story based DLC Left Behind won the BAFTA for Best Story, which serves as a prequel to the events of the 2013 critically acclaimed The Last of Us and follows original co-protagonist Ellie and her best friend Riley as they attend a military boarding school in the Boston quarantine zone and experience a series of events that changes them both forever.

Having already won the 2014 BAFTA Award for Best Performance, Ashley Johnson won again for her performance as Ellie.

Left Behind is the only story based DLC that Naughty Dog had planned.

In other categories, Destiny took home the Best Game award beating stiff competition from Alien: Isolation, Mario Kart 8, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Monument Valley.

Despite its six nominations, Creative Assembly’s horror-thriller Alien: Isolation took home just one award for its Audio Achievement.

Monument Valley tied The Last of Us: Left Behind with wins; also earning two awards itself for Best British Game and Best Mobile & Handheld Game.

Lumino City beat the likes of Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 to win Artistic Achievement whilst Never Alone took home the BAFTA for Best Debut.

Minecraft: Console Editions won Best Family Game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor won for Best Game Design, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter won Best Game Innovation, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft won Best Multiplayer.

The fourth instalment in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 4, took home Best Music, whilst Valiant Hearts won Best Original Property, League of Legends won Best Persistent Game and OlliOlli beat favourites FIFA 15 and Football Manager 2015 to win Best Sport Game.

Chambara took home the BAFTA Ones to Watch award.
