Rockstar Games today delivered more bad news for its PC fan base but have also attempted to soften the blow with the official announcement of online heists for GTA Online.
Announced earlier today, the studio revealed the PC edition of the critically acclaimed record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed yet again, making it the third time the action-adventure title has been pushed back.
It was originally scheduled for release on January 27th but was pushed back to March 24th. It will now (hopefully) launch on April 14th, say Rockstar.
“Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game,” a statement read. “But a bit more time is needed to ensure the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC.”
As an apology, Rockstar say they will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the PC edition with $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.
The studio also softened the blow by further announcing that the highly anticipated online heists for GTA Online are to be released on March 10th.
“We are excited to announce that the launch of Heists for GTA Online is scheduled for March 10th,” the studio continued in the same statement. “We know it’s been a wait, and appreciate your patience.”
The heists will allow up to 4 players to participate.
More information is to be released over the next couple of weeks, including some “other new features that [Rockstar] will release with it”.
Several screenshots were also released, as shown below.
