Warner Bros. has today announced the release date for Batman: Arkham Knight.
Rocksteady Games’ upcoming final instalment in the Batman: Arkham series will launch worldwide on June 2nd.
Originally scheduled for release in October 2014 when first revealed back in March, the title was delayed back in June until 2015.
Arkham Knight takes place one year following the events of Rocksteady’s 2011 instalment Arkham City, as Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect when The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains to destroy The Dark Knight forever.
Classic Batman series characters such as Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn will be included as well as the all-new character, The Arkham Knight.
For the first time in the series, the Batmobile will be a core element of the game with an entire new area of Gotham City to explore.
A five-minute gameplay trailer was showcased at this year E3 convention.
Warner Bros. also released details of special limited edition packs for the title.
The Limited Edition will feature an 80 page full colour art book showcasing the concept art of the title, a steelbook case and game disc, a limited edition DC Comics Batman: Arkham Knight #0 comic book, three exclusive character skins from DC Comics, and a Batman memorial statue.
The Batmobile Edition will include the same art book, the steelbook case and disc, the comic book, the exclusive skins, and a transforming Batmobile statue.
Arkham Knight will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
