Warner Bros. today announced details for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor’s Season Pass.
The pass, available from participating retailers, will feature exclusive content such as the exclusive “Guardians of the Flaming Eye” Orc Warband mission where players face Sauron’s elite defenders before the Black Gate and earn the Rising Flame rune.
Also included is early access to the “Trials of War” challenge series that sees players test their skills against legions of Sauron’s forces in a series of challenge modes. Scores can be displayed on the challenge leaderboard as well.
All new story missions will also be available such as “Lord of the Hunt”, where players hunt wild beasts and discover hidden lairs, and “The Bright Lord”, where you play as Celebrimbor, the great Elven smith of the Second Age, and battle against Sauron and his forces.
Season Pass holders will also have access to any future content including runes, skins, and additional add-on content.
Set in Middle-earth, you’ll play as Talion, a valiant ranger who, moments before his own death, witnesses his family slain the night Sauron and his army return to Mordor. Resurrected by a spirit of vengeance, and powered with Wraith abilities, Talion ventures into Mordor to exact his revenge, whilst learning about the spirit that compels him and the rings of power.
Written by Red Dead Redemption co-writer Christian Cantamessa, it will feature Troy Baker as Talion, Alastair Duncan as Celebrimbor, Nolan North as Black Hand, Laura Bailey as Ioreth, and Liam O’Brien as Gollum.
It is developed by Monolith Productions in collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises, Peter Jackson, and artists from Weta Workshop, who worked on the Academy Award winning trilogy adaptation of Lord of the Rings.
It will be available on October 3rd for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
