A pretty awesome new poster for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has arrived online. It shows ape leader Caesar not only riding a horse, but also brandishing a serious looking firearm and rallying his troops in front of a burning suspension bridge. Couldn’t ask for much more really, could we?
Scroll down to take a look at the poster in full.
The film is set ten years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) in which the search for a drug to help the brain repair itself gave rise to human intelligence in Caesar and some of his fellow apes, leading (of course) to the beginning of an ape uprising. In the new film a small band of humans – only survivors of a deadly virus – have reached an uneasy peace with the apes, but this won’t last for long, and a fight for dominancy over Earth begins.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves, and stars Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Judy Greer and Andy Serkis. The film will be released in the UK on July 17th.
