The release date of Alien: Isolation will be revealed this weekend, it was announced today.
On Saturday, during the upcoming EGX Rezzed gaming convention at the NIA Arena in Birmingham, UK, creative director at Creative Assembly – the developers – Al Hope will be on stage from 3pm to reveal details regarding the development on the highly anticipated title and its official release date.
Gamers will also be able to get their hands on the game as it will be showcased on several platforms on the show’s floor.
For those who won’t be able to attend in person, the panel will also be streamed via Eurogamer.net.
Announced back in January, Isolation is based on the 1979 Alien film, directed by Ridley Scott, and is due for release in late 2014 on next-gen and current-gen consoles along with a release on PC.
Playing as Amanda Ripley, in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger as an unpredictable, players will have to evade the ruthless Xenomorph as it stalks and kills deep in the shadows of a decommissioned trading station in the fringes of space. Players must scavenge for resources to succeed the mission and evade death.
