[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he downloadable multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 has been voted as the 2013 Mod of the Year by ModDB.
ModDB, an online community for developers and gamers, crowned Just Cause 2’s Multiplayer Mod as the best of the year, earning 141,000 votes from gamers worldwide.
The multiplayer mod, which enables numerous amounts of players to interact in the game’s world, originally started as a fan project for the 2010 action-adventure game. Developers of the game later picked up the mod and was released on December 17th as a free DLC on Steam.
Just Cause 2 follows protagonist Rico Rodriguez as he travels across the island of Panau, Southeast Asia to overthrow Pandak “Baby” Panay, an evil dictator, and his former mentor, Tom Sheldon. It was released in 2010 to positive reviews and to date has sold over 6 million units.
Whilst Just Cause 2 earned first place, No More Room In Hell took 2nd place, Rise of the Reds placed 3rd, Brutal Doom won 4th place and Battlefield 2’s Project Reality mod came 5th. Underhell was voted 6th, Crusader Kings 2: Thrones won 7th, A Clash of Kings earned 8th place, Fallout’s Project Brazil was 9th and Wyrmstooh came last at number 10.
