[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he phenomenally successful Grand Theft Auto V continues to swipe up Game of the Year at the end of year awards.
Rockstar Game’s open world action-adventure game has already scooped up Game of the Year at both the Golden Joystick Awards and the Spike TV VGX Awards earlier this month. On top of that it broke $800 million in sales during it’s first day release on September 17th and 2 days later broke $1 billion. It won 7 Guinness World Records, beat The Last of Us as biggest digital release on PS3 and outsold its predecessor GTA IV.
Now GTA V has been voted as Best Retail Game of the Year by Digital Spy’s readers. 22,600 readers voted for the game over other favourites The Last of Us, Super Mario 3D World, Tomb Raider and Fifa 14.
The Walking Dead went home with Best Downloadable Game with 29.9% of the vote and PlayStation 3 earned the Best Gaming Platform just narrowly beating Xbox 360.
