Veteran Bollywood actor Pran dies – Pran, who is considered by many to be one of the greatest actors/villains in the history of Hindi Cinema, sadly passed away last Friday. The 93 year old actor, who is famous for films like Madhumati (1958), Upkar (1967) and Zanjeer (1973), was ailing for some time and died at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. His body was cremated the following day where a number of Bollywood figures such as Amitabh Bachchan and Karan Johar came to pay their last respects.
Hrithik Roshan has successful brain surgery – Superstar Hrithik Roshan underwent brain surgery last Sunday in order to remove a minor blood clot. The 39 year old, who shot to fame with his debut film KahoNaa…PyaarHai (1999), had his surgery at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, following a head injury on the sets of his upcoming film Bang Bang, opposite Katrina Kaif. Sources in Mumbai reported the following regarding Hrithik’s condition; “He is fine now but he will be taking rest at least for a month now. Doctors have asked him to take rest and complete the medication.”
Indian newcomer to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan – Actress Anika Lokhwande will reportedly play the female lead in Farah Khan’s upcoming film Happy New Year. If rumours are true, she will be starring opposite megastar Shah Rukh Khan in this major project. Lokhwande is known for starring in Ekta Kapoor’s TV serial Pavitra Rishta and is also the girlfriend of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Happy New Year is due to begin filming in September.
Ranveer Singh is kept grounded by family – Actor Ranveer Singh has said that his father plays an instrumental role in preventing fame and success from changing his behaviour. “I have a very close knit nuclear family who are very frank and blunt with me, especially my father. I will admit there have been occasions where my father has scolded me saying, ‘What are you doing? Why are you behaving like this? You are getting really bratty!’ He keeps me in check.”Ranveer’s latest film Lootera released to worldwide critical acclaim, despite not faring too well at the box office.
