The Dictator
Sacha Baron Cohen returns to cinemas this week in his new guise as General Aladeen. There’s been a lot of promotional material for the movie (see here for all of our coverage) and it’s sure to not be to everybody’s taste but will, undoubtedly, please fans of Cohen’s other work.
Gangster Squad
Ryan Gosling was, arguably, 2011’s leading man thanks to his appearances in Drive, The Ides of March and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Gangster Squad marks his return. Whilst also working on projects with Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, he appears here as Sgt. Jerry Wooters. Watch the trailer here! The film is set for release 9th November.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Sherlock Holmes’s second outting is released on DVD and Blu-ray today. Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law the film is complemented by The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Noomi Rapace (soon to appear in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus). Read our review here!
The Raid
Being heralded as the biggest action movie of the year, The Raid has a lot to live up to. Released this week it features some brilliant uses of camera work and is sure to satisfy action-junkies the nation over.
The Carrie Remake
Love or hate the idea it seems the Carrie remake is definitely happening. Joining Chloe Moretz as the titular Carrie is Julianne Moore who will appear as the girl’s over-bearing mother. The film is set to be released next year.
