After turning 21 and becoming a man, there was a glimmer of hope that Justin Bieber might finally grow up. However, he’s quickly disproved that theory.
With Comedy Central set to roast him on March 14 – the programme will air on March 30 – Bieber has been on a relentless quest to get actor Seth Rogen involved.
In the past, Rogen has been very vocal about his opinion of the singer, calling him a ‘piece of sh*t’ on many occasions, including during a conversation with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, which Bieber references in one of his tweets.
Bieber’s first plea to Rogen on February 27 fell on deaf ears, but he hasn’t given up. He sent a barrage of tweets on Monday, even creating the hashtag #WeWantSeth, which was soon trending worldwide thanks to his dutiful army of ‘Beliebers’.
Rogen is yet to respond to Bieber’s demands and, if we remind ourselves of his chat with Cohen, it seems unlikely he’ll break his silence any time soon.
Rogen said: “He’s a good example of someone you meet, who you think you’re going to hate, and then you get to hate him as much as you thought. You meet him, and he lives up to every one of your expectations of how you hope he will be.”
“And it was weird, I was like, ‘Sure, I’ll meet him.’ So I went outside to meet him and he was acting like I asked to meet him. It was very nonchalant… I was like, ‘Don’t act all nonplussed to meet me. I didn’t want to meet you. I was totally cool not meeting you…’ Whatever. He’s young, the kid’s a dick.”
“And then I met him like two years later maybe, I saw him again at an MTV awards show and he literally had a snake wrapped around his f*cking wrist that he was wearing as an accoutrement… I talked to him for like five minutes and I was like, ‘F*ck this kid.’ ”
Friend of Bieber, comedian and actor Kevin Hart, has promised to let loose during the roast, so even if Rogen is a no-show, the popstar will definitely be feeling the heat.
