Clap Your Hands Say Yeah announces UK tour

An exciting return of the American indie-rockers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah with the release of their new album 'The Tourist' and an upcoming UK tour

For the first time since 2014, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will be coming back to the UK to celebrate the release of their upcoming album The Tourist.

The new album will be hitting shelves on February 24, following up the band’s 2014 album Only Run. The first self-titled album was received with critical acclaim, written solely by vocalist Alec Ounsworth.

The American five-piece first joined forces in 2004 and have since released four albums, not including The Tourist, and have found themselves placed in the UK Top 50 Album Charts.

“I wanted to experiment with packing lyrics,” Ounsworth says. “On this album, the lyrics and vocal melody effectively carry the songs, maybe more than anything else. Elvis Costello does this really well on his song ‘Beyond Belief,’ as does Paul Simon on his solo albums. I wanted not to overdo it lyrically, but do try to squeeze as much as I could out of certain phrases.”

Tickets for the upcoming UK shows are already on sale. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will be performing at the following venues throughout September:

13th Sep 17 – Bristol – Thekla (ticket link)
14th Sep 17 – Manchester – Gorilla (ticket link)
