FIFA 17 has been nominated for Best Writing in a Video Game at the upcoming Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards.

The WGGB today announced the shortlist for its annual awards and EA Sport’s FIFA 17 writers Martin Korda, Matthew Turner, and Tom Watt were nominated for the Best Writing in a Video Game category.

They share a nomination along side Virginia writers Jonathan Burroughs, Lyndon Holland, Terry Kenny, and Fragments of Him writer Mata Haggis.

FIFA17 was the very first in the series to feature an all-new story mode.

Titled “The Journey”, it follows the story of Alex Hunter, a Premier League prospect, who is looking to leave his mark on the league.

The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain awards ceremony takes place on Monday 23 January 2017 from the Royal College of Physicians in Central London.

It will be hosted by writer, comedian, and actress Meera Syal.
