Some “great news” will be revealed next month by the developers of Beyond: Two Souls.
Quantic Dream, also developers of the critically acclaimed Heavy Rain, released a short status on their official Facebook account that simply read “Some great news coming in January.”
No further announcement was made and the studio offered no hints as to what the announcement could possibly be.
One possible theory is the studio might officially announce Beyond: Two Souls for PlayStation 4 following numerous hints that such a move was just in store.
Earlier this year, a NeoGAF user allegedly found deleted tutorial screenshots and DS4 controller input code from what appeared to be a PS4 Director’s Cut of the action-thriller title.
A few months later, two Germany retail websites listed the title for a PS4 release in September 2014.
Yet more hints surfaced a few more months later, after a trophy list, with 46 total trophies, for a PS4 edition surfaced on Exophase.com.
We’ve reached out to Sony previously but they’ve refused to comment.
Beyond: Two Souls, starring Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, launched in October 2013 and has since gone on to sell over 1 million copies.
It tells the life of Jodie Holmes, a young woman who possesses supernatural powers through her psychic link to a mysterious invisible entity. Players follow her journey through life as an adorable little girl to an adolescent teenager just longing for a normal life like the rest of the girls her age.
It is currently available for PlayStation 3 only.
