After months of speculation, Square Enix and Avalanche Studios today officially announced Just Cause 3.

The studios announced the third-installment of the open-world action-adventure series would be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

“We’ve been waiting for this moment ever since Just Cause 2 was released,” said Christofer Sundberg, Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Avalanche. “This is the culmination of a decade’s worth of open-world evolution and innovation.”

The next title will feature upgrades to the parachute and grapple techniques as well as a brand new Wingsuit.

Just Cause 3 truly represents the next generation of chaotic sandbox fun, and we can’t wait to show you more next year,” added Sundberg.

Game Informer will be featuring the title on their December cover of their magazine and will reveal more details about the game.

The first Just Cause game launched in 2006 to positive reviews and as of 2009 has sold over 1 million copies.

A sequel, Just Cause 2, released four years later also to positive reception and sold over 6 million copies as of September 2013.
