DayZ will not be an exclusive to PlayStation 4, its creator has confirmed.

It was announced on Tuesday that the popular PC indie title would be coming to the PlayStation 4 but its creator, Dean Hall, took to Twitter to assure fans that the title wouldn’t be exclusive.

Replying to a fan who tweeted that exclusives in 2014 make no sense and are anti-consumer, following the whole Rise of the Tomb Raider fiasco, Hall replied saying he agreed.

“I agree,” he wrote. “DayZ is not an exclusive on any platform”.

Originally launching as a MOD for ARMA 2, DayZ launched as a standalone title in December 2013 due to popular demand.

It has since become one of the most popular titles, hosting over 1.5 million players, selling over 2 million units in less that 6 months since launch, and becoming the most talk about game, overcoming the launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and FIFA 14.

Hall announced back in February that he was leaving Bohemia Interactive, the studio behind the title.

A release window for DayZ on PlayStation 4 has not been officially announced.
