1998 Mode for the upcoming Burial at Sea – Episode Two DLC for BioShock Infinite has been announced by Irrational Games.

As with the previous 1999 Mode, which featured the hardest difficulty mode for BioShock Infinite, 1998 Mode will challenge gamers to complete the game using non-lethal methods only.

Ken Levine, creative director for Irrational Games said: “In Burial at Sea – Episode Two we put a focus on balance and stealth mechanics. As we were developing this new style of gameplay, we started to see people self-impose non-lethal playthrough’s.

“Given the fan reception of 1999 Mode, we thought it would be cool to give them another way to play Burial at Sea that challenged their mastery of stealth tools.”

Available March 25th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, the Burial at Sea – Episode Two pack will see players take control of Elizabeth and will conclude the story of BioShock Infinite and Burial at Sea.
