Mario Kart 8 will launch on May 30th, Nintendo announced yesterday.
As part of the company’s first Nintendo Direct broadcast, it was revealed that the highly anticipated racing game will launch in late May for the Wii U in stores and on Nintendo’s eShop.
Along with the press release, several new screenshots were also released, as shown below.
Whilst continuing gameplay from previous instalments of the Mario Kart series, Mario Kart 8 also enables racers to drive on walls and ceilings thanks to the game’s new anti-gravity system.
Local and online multiplayer modes for up to 12 players are also available and players will also be able to share clips from races via the new Mario Kart TV.
