The creator of the growing popular Flappy Bird game has said the game will be removed within 22 hours.
Flappy Bird, a simple free game where the player navigates a bird through a maze, has become a buzz with players who have downloaded the game via their iOS and Android devices.
However the creator, Doug Nguyen, has said that within 22 hours the game will be removed as he “cannot take this anymore” due to the attention the game has received from the press.
It currently holds number one spot on iTunes for Free Apps.
Via Twitter, he wrote: “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.”
He later clarified that it was not being removed due to legal issues. He wrote: “It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.” He also later said that he does not plan on selling the game and will continue to make games.
Earlier he also wrote: “I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.”
As of late Saturday night the game was still available on the App store.
