Included in the star-studded cast are Academy Award nominee and Faulty Towers star John Cleese, who plays Cadwell, a cheerful, fearless and endearingly mad lost soul, Golden Globe winner and Pirates of the Carribean star Bill Nighy, who portrays a merchant prince, and Pearl Harbor actress Kate Beckinsale, starring as Queen Ayrenn.
Also included is Spider-Man 2 actor Alfred Molina, playing as Abnur Tharn, a wizard and politician, Golden Globe nominee and Harry Potter star Michael Gambon, as The Prophet, a mysterious blind man, and Golden Globe nominee Malcolm McDowell as Molag Bal, an evil Daedric god.
Lynda Carter, of Wonder Woman fame, will also be reprising her role as Azura from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
“This extraordinary group of actors helps bring the distinctive characters in The Elder Scrolls Online to life,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “In The Elder Scrolls tradition, we sought world class talent to add a deep and enriching component to the immersive world the series offers players.”
Developed by ZeniMac Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online is the latest instalment in the franchise which sees players experience online play for the first time in the series. Players will be able to choose their own style as they venture across Tamriel as a lone wolf or along with other players.
The game’s predecessor, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, released in 2011 to worldwide critical acclaim and was voted as Game of the Year at several award ceremonies. It also sold over 20 millions copies.
The Elder Scrolls Online launches for PC and Mac on April 4th whilst versions for Xbox One and PS4 launch in June.
