Fans to become Batman with Rocksteady’s new Virtual Reality game

For the first time ever, a Virtual Reality game based on Batman is to be released in October.

Fans will have the opportunity to live their dreams and become Batman in  a brand new virtual reality game from the makers of the Batman: Arkham series.

Unveiled during E3, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment announced Batman: Arkham VR, a virtual reality based game developed by Rocksteady Studios, developers of critically acclaimed titles such as Batman: Arkham Asylum and most recently Batman: Arkham Knight.

Based on the iconic DC Comics Batman character, Arkham VR will see fans experience the Batman universe first hand and use Batman’s greatest detective skills to unravel a plot that threatens the lives of his closest allies.

“Virtual reality is expanding the video game space and entertainment overall, so it is extremely exciting to have our incredible team at Rocksteady Studios dive into this new storytelling medium with the Batman: Arkham franchise,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“Rocksteady is one of the best at creating story-driven content, and Batman: Arkham VR will deliver a more immersive experience than anyone could have imagined only a few years ago.”

Game Director Sefton Hill, of Rocksteady Studios, added, “Rocksteady is always looking for new ways to further engross players into the worlds we create and Batman: Arkham VR is an example of how we’re taking advantage of the latest technology to do that.

“The team is committed to delivering a Batman experience that stays true to the character and allows players to fully immerse themselves in the role of the World’s Greatest Detective.”

Batman: Arkham VR will be available in October 2016 exclusively to PS4 with PlayStation VR.
