Quantum Break release moved back to 2016

Remedy Entertainment's Xbox One exclusive time-travel action title will now release in 2016 instead of 2015.

Quantum Break has been pushed back from its original 2015 scheduled release to 2016, Microsoft announced today.

Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming time-travel action title was originally scheduled for a release this year but it will now release next year to allow more time to polish the title.

“We’re really proud to be part of the incredible Xbox One line-up,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy.

“We thank our fans for their patience, and want them to know that the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us.”

Set in the North Eastern US Riverport University, a time travel experiment goes wrong, which gives Jack Joyce, Beth Wilder and Paul Serene the ability to manipulate time.

Sam Lake has previously said the title would be a “revolutionary entertainment experience that combines cinematic action game and a high quality live action show”.

“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned of interactive storytelling from Alan Wake and stylized cinematic action game,” said Lake.

“We’ve raised the bar much higher and brought these elements together with one game, creating the ultimate Remedy experience.”

An 8 minute gameplay video has been released previously.

It’s scheduled to be released exclusively for Xbox One.
